The Ottawa Bridal Party‘s inaugural event happened this past February 3, 2013. WOW. What an incredible bridal show! Unlike any that we have ever been to—Wishtree was so blessed to have had a hand in branding/designing this event. With creator, Rebecca Allen’s, vision and go-get’em attitude it is safe to say that the Ottawa Bridal Party was a huge success and it will not be the last!
With a hand-picked selection of wedding vendors, SixtyFourHundred Celebration Centre hosted the event. The special touches were unmistakeable. As soon as you pulled up the main entrance, Responsible Choice greeted you with complimentary valet service. Once inside, you were welcomed and handed a tote bag filled with goodies in one hand and a glass of wine (compliments of Union) in the other. The beautiful sounds of Kimberly Dunn live on the piano set the tone throughout the day as you walked from booth to booth—greeted by each vendor.
The space was perfect—very intimate—making you actually want to stop and have a conversation with each vendor rather than grab a business card and motor on through the herd. There was no crowding, no talking over loud chatter and there was no need to fight for the plentiful cupcake samples. It was a perfectly relaxed and enjoyable afternoon which we’d liken to a social wedding reception party.
Amazing vendors embellished the rooms with their booths. Sage Designs played with pretty pinks, Dahlia Events lit up the room with warm whites, Kennedy Event Planning brought back the glamourous glitter and we met a new up & coming duo—Amy and Jen—who’s vintage rentals will make you want to get married all over again! The Cake Whisperer and Auntie Loo’s Treats were to die for (We confess to sampling more than just one… )! The Flour Shoppe’s popcorn booth also disappeared all too quickly!
The Rivini fashion show by Ashton Station Bridal was a unique and interactive experience with the models floating throughout the crowds and posing on sporadically placed stands. Each model was dolled up by the talents of Show Pony Hair and One Fine Beauty. It was such a clever way to display the gowns and keep the intimacy.
We had the pleasure of meeting a select few of the photography talent across Ottawa that day. The very talented and super sweet Kim Ing generously offered her photos up for our blog post (Thank you!) while the incredible talents of Melanie Rebane, Barbara-Ann Studios, and new comer Val Mitchell Photography were hard to miss!
We can’t say enough about everyone we met and were showcased at the event! It was a whirlwind of a day and we can only imagine what it was like for each vendor hosting a booth. A huge round of applause to everyone who contributed from the very beginning straight through to the day of. It was an incredible show and we look forward to next year’s being even better!
